Disasters in Slow Motion (pt. 25) - Oct 26, 2020
Since facebook is discontinuing this feature, this will likely be the last of the Facebook posted notes on this matter (other than announcing a new home for them should I continue). It is a shame, because the note feature was one of my favorite things about Facebook and, since the new update has broken facebook for me, I’ll likely be around a LOT less.
October 26, 2020 (16:04 GMT) - Actual Numbers vs. October 15, 2020 (16:08 GMT)

* It is becoming increasingly more obvious that Florida numbers cannot
be trusted. The number of recovered cases certainly should not have
DROPPED by over 100k people. It looks like the numbers were
intentionally misreported to justify expanding the state’s reopening.
** Florida has ceased reporting Covid-19 information by county to any legitimate body collecting information.

On the bright side, cases in Florida are still trending downwards faster than new cases reported, but the figures being reported are looking more and more like misinformation. This is why the person responsible for setting up the Florida tracking website quite, she claimed she was being pressured to falsify numbers. Now we have had two MAJOR number corrections in about as many weeks and that is increasingly troubling. Worse still is the cessation of countywide report, making it harder to tell where in the state might be safer than others.
With the beginning of snowbird season having already started, I am not upbeat about our chances anymore.
